چکیده

Abstract Background Periodontitis is one of major oral diseases, which has no consensus on early screening tool. This study aimed to compare the association and ability S100A8 S100A9 in saliva, blood gingival crevicular fluid (GCF) for periodontitis status. Methods We recruited 149 community Korean adults, 50 or initial (NIPERIO) 99 established (PERIO). Using clinical attachment loss a panoramic radiograph, stage II–IV new classification proposed at 2018 was considered cases as PERIO. Enzyme linked immunosorbent assay kit used quantify S100A9. T-test, analysis covariance, Mann–Whitney test correlation were applied relationship blood, GCF periodontitis. Receiver operating characteristic curve ability. Results Among GCF, saliva significantly higher PERIO than NIPERIO ( p < 0.05). However, The salivary 75% PERIO, while that 74% NIPERIO. Salivary positively correlated Conclusion could be potential diagnostic marker useful

Hepatocyte Growth Factor Levels in the Saliva and Gingival Crevicular Fluid in Smokers with Periodontitis

Hepatocyte growth factor (HGF) production by oral fibroblasts is enhanced by various molecules that are induced during inflammatory conditions including periodontitis. HGF plays an important role in the progression of periodontitis, by stimulating intense growth of epithelial cells and preventing regeneration of connective tissue attachments. Smokers have a greater risk factor in the pathogenes...

OBJECTIVES This study was undertaken to investigate the OPG profiles in gingival crevicular fluid (GCF), saliva, and gingival tissues of chronic periodontitis (CP) patients in response to open flap debridement (OFD). SUBJECTS AND METHODS The study included 30 subjects divided into 2 groups: 20 CP patients and 10 periodontally healthy subjects. Plaque index, gingival index, pocket depth, and c...

Gingival Crevicular Fluid Immunoglobulins in Smokers with Chronic Periodontitis

Tobacco smoking is regarded as one of the most significant risk factors in the development and progression of periodontal disease. Studies have shown an altered host antibody response to antigenic challenge in smokers with periodontitis. The study was undertaken to estimate the gingival crevicular fluid (GCF) immunoglobulin G,A,M (IgA, IgG and IgM) levels in smokers and non smoker with periodon...
